What is Word Force?

Word Force is a project of Narrative Initiative, provides ghostwriting services and robust communication strategy with a narrative lens to grassroots social justice organizations. We collaborate with Changemaker organizations to help them harness their narrative power and integrate it into all aspects of their work.

What does “narrative strategy” mean?

Narrative strategy is the intentional use of stories, language, and messages to shift culture, influence policy, and build power. At Word Force, we work with organizers and advocates to identify harmful narratives that need disrupting and helpful narratives that can be uplifted to create long-term change.

Who does Word Force work with?

We partner with grassroots organizations, nonprofits, and advocacy groups that are building power in communities most impacted by systemic injustice. Our clients and collaborators include organizations working on racial justice, immigrant rights, disability justice, reproductive freedom, economic equity, and more.

What is the Word Force Observer?

The Word Force Observer is our monthly newsletter where we share reflections on narrative strategy, highlight our partners’ work, and provide tools for organizers and communicators. Beginning in September 2025, the Observer will move to LinkedIn.
